ジョン・健・ヌッツォJohn Nuzzo (Tenor)

2000年に世界三大歌劇場の一つであるウィーン国立歌劇場でデビューし、オーストリア芸術新人大賞「エバーハルト・ヴェヒター・メダル」を受賞。ザルツブルグ音楽祭に出演した後、巨匠ジェームズ・レヴァインの招待により世界最高峰のメトロポリタン歌劇場にデビュー。その後ミュンヘン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団と共演。「愛の妙薬」のネモリーノ、「ラ・ボエーム」のロドルフォ等、甘い歌声に定評がある。 これまでにプラシド・ドミンゴ、エディータ・グルベローヴァー、アンジェラ・ゲオルギュー、リチャード・ボーニング、シャルル・デュトワ、ヴァレリー・ゲルギエフ、ファビオ・ルイージ等著名な歌手、指揮者と共演。また、天皇皇后陛下とローマ法皇に歌声を披露した経験をもつ。NHK「紅白歌合戦」へ二度出場。2013年にはオペラ「KAMIKAZE〜神風」の初演で主役を務め、絶賛を博した。音楽を通じた東日本大震災への復興支援も精力的に行っている。

John Nuzzo’s debut at Wiener Staatsoper was in 2000 and he was awarded the Eberhard Waechter Medal given to the most promising new artists. Having performed at the Salzburg Music Festival, John was soon invited by Maestro James Levine to the Metropolitan opera and made his debut there. He then sang with the Münchner Philharmoniker. His graceful voice in the role of Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Rodolfo in La Bohème has been highly acclaimed. John has performed with many leading singers and conductors, including Plácido Domingo, Edita Gruberová, Angela Gheorghiu, Richard Bonynge, Charles Dutoit, Valery Gergiev, and Fabio Luisi. Varieties of his performances include his singing in front of the Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan and the Pope at the Vatican. In 2013, John sang the lead role in the opera Kamikaze at its premiere, which received the highest of praise. As an ongoing project, he supports the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami victims, through music.
